Finding parking Hollywood is a pain (I can’t tell you how many times I’ve dread going to Hollywood because of the limited availability of affordable parking), but La Palmas offers their parking for free!
Overall, this value hotel offers a clean bed, daily house-keeping, free parking, a great location, and very reasonable pricing for budget-conscious visitors.

It was built in 1929 under the name Hotel Oden, where it housed famous guests like Clark Gable, James Dean, Marilyn Monroe, and Paul Newman.
These stars stayed in this historic hotel as they audition for various roles, hoping to make it big one day.
You can retrace their steps before they achieved frame by requesting for the room that Marilyn Monroe or James Dean stayed in.
That’s not all, many guests also described ghost sightings in the hotel and this Los Angeles Times article has documented some of these sightings!
Knowing all of these interesting historical facts about this hotel, I’m tempted to say it should be an attraction in itself!
They also offer discounts with 3 or more nights of stay.

The Steady hostel is one of those rare finds, where affordability meets clean, comfort, and safety.
Steady provides some amazing amenities that I have rarely seen in other hostels, like shampoo and soaps for showering.
I know this is a minor detail, but it shows how much they care about their guests.
I’ve stayed in many hostels in the past, but I always had to bring my own shampoos and soap when I needed to shower in the bathroom.
The interior décor is designed to be bright, comfortable, and I’ll just say it…hip!
There is nothing basic about this hostel.
I highly recommend this hostel, if you’re looking for something budget-friendly yet comfortable.
The Steady may not be located to the main attractions as some of the other hotels mentioned in this post, but it’s just a 10-minute walk to Vermont/Santa Monica and the Beverly/Vermont stations!
To Hollywood’s main attractions, you just need a couple of stops on the Metro Red Line subway.

Since it borders Silverlake, you can also visit the many independent book stores and coffee shots nearby.
In general, the price is very affordable for its high-end room design feel.
